I moved the mouse wheel down about 2 clicks and instantly relived the past three months of my life lol. So I posted about The Murder City Devils reunion show. Many of you know the outcome of this because you were (or rather weren't) there. We didn't go. This was a busy Summer. Guess I got that right because technically Summer is over even though it still feels like it but my calendar does say October. Anyway the concert fell on the same day as bachelor party for a friend of mine. We were doing an all day affair starting with breakfast. Here is were things get a little embarrassing. More for Shanna than for me but embarrassing all the same. I'll probably break some man code too and spill the beans on the events of a bachelor party but here goes...
I showed up in time for breakfast. It was good. I don't drink very often. I could easily say I drink less than once a month and not make a liar out of myself. For this event Shanna had cut me loose for the entire day and it was the only day of the Summer to just be Garrett with his friends and not have to be a dad or a husband. To clarify I mean duty wise(chores and diapers) not morally...I wasn't out carousing although I did take a trip to Capitol Hill. I had 5 drinks with breakfast. Count em. 1 2 3 4 5. That's a lot. I had to go get fitted for a tux and there is no way the guy couldn't tell. Shanna was embarrassed but I was surprisingly lucid. I just smelled like a pirate. I went through most of the day in this sort of haze. It was fun. Haven't done it since and I probably won't again although I know of 2 bachelor parties coming up next year! Anyway we didn't go to the Murder City show. We walked through the aftermath and spoke to people who were lucky enough to witness the real thing. We missed the added 2nd show the following night too. I guess in a way this was kind of the end of an era for some of us. Three years ago there was no way we would have missed a show like this. It was definitely more fun to just hang out and catch up with each other. When we did make it to a concert we were talking afterwards about how sore we were to stand for 4 hours. Where did the time go and when did we get so old?
