I just got back from Billy Corgan at The Moore. I have to admit I was pretty apprehensive going into it. Of course this may mean that it would be that much more easier to impress me but in this case I don't think so. I did have pretty low expectations going into the show but I would have been blown away even if I had expected the world. Billy was amazing! I was hooked from the second the house lights dropped and the stage lights came on. Honestly I was intrigued just watching them set up the stage.
I could go on and on about this show and I will, but it will be in a podcast so that anyone who wants to hear my review can download it. I think it would take up a couple of pages if I typed it up.
My quickie rundown would go:
-Billy played from 9:45- 10:53
-Encore till about 11
-14 songs plus an encore. 1 was an AC/DC cover. I am pretty sure he played his entire new CD but there may have been one song he skipped.
-The final song was a classic Corgan jam that sounded like a bunch of songs (including the opening riff from Today) mashed together.
-Something new from our usually shy hero... He greeted fans after the show then took the stage to explain that tomorrow is the final show for the North America tour. "This is coming to an end. It may be a while til you see me again but hopefully when you do it is with the Smashing Pumpkins."
GREAT NEWS! When the Pumpkins release new material I will be in line to buy it and as always I will be at the Show. If you have questions email me and I will answer them on the podcast. I think the next one will be entirely about this show.
BTW the above pic is just the one from www.billycorgan.com. You can see the screen in behind him and get an idea of what the show looked like.
