Car go VRoooom!

No, this isn't the title of Emma's newest book or any of her books for that matter. My 1987 Honda Prelude hit 200,000 miles about 15 minutes ago on the way home from work. Pretty cool if you ask me. The darn thing is ugly as sin but I can't bring myself to get rid of it. At this point I have had it longer than most people keep pets for and it runs like it was 1989! In fact the other night this skater kid knocked on my car window and asked me if it was an 86' or 87'. He has one and it has 240k on it but he said it runs flawlessly. That gives me hope for mine. Shanna's car will be paid off in just 2 more payments. This means I will have the opportunity to by a new car next spring. Hmmm the real question is what to do with my Prelude. Since it's trade in value is $500-$750 and $2000 would be reaching if I sell privately I am trying to convince Shanna we should hang onto it. In 16 years it will be a classic car and Emma will be old enough to drive it. Pretty weird to think of any sort of Honda being classic. Somehow I doubt you will see my Honda in 2 years much less 16.

Nice. My black civic ran well for just over 200,000 and I got rid of it around 220,000.

I wonder if that guy was my friend Kris Court who lives just up the street. He's had a Yellow prelude forever.

My toyota pickup hit 200,000 right before I traded it in; it always ran well (after I dumped a ton of cash into it's engine). I think you should keep it for Emma to drive!

Ha Ha Ha, my toyota truck has 247,000 and is still going strong, I think maybe it's becauce there is no accessories like power steering or A/C to kill it. Also, last week I was watching a show on the Discovery Channel that tests out new cars and they decided to buy an old toyota pickup and kill it. After puting it in the ocean tide, dropping a camper on it, driving it through a barn, hitting it with a wrecking ball and lighting it on fire, it still ran.
